We are still feeling the incredible energy from our recent mindfulness event with The Purple Couch Therapy! 🌟 This past weekend, our Lemonade Circle members gathered at the Purple Couch House for a transformative experience, and it was nothing short of inspiring.
Led by the amazing Jessica Chavira-Eubanks, Founder of The Purple Couch Therapy, the event was a safe space for our youth to reflect, connect, and embrace their identity. One moment that truly touched our hearts was when a young participant proudly shouted, "I love being Black!" It was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating spaces where our youth can express themselves loudly and proudly. These are the moments that fuel our mission.
The event wasn't just for the youth—our parents and caregivers were also supported, acknowledging that caring for the whole family is vital. As Jessica beautifully put it, "We can’t do this by ourselves." This dynamic approach ensures that everyone in our community is uplifted and empowered.
A huge shout out to Alex (@alex.at.purplecouch) and Valencia (@mindsoulsva) for holding space so beautifully for our youth. Your dedication and care made this event truly special. As we reflect on this powerful day, we are reminded of the strength and resilience of Black women, femmes, and girls who continue to make lemonade from the lemons life throws at us. Together, we will continue to create spaces where our voices can be heard and celebrated.
