We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news! The Lemonade Circle had the immense honor of receiving the Carver IMPACT Award at the glittering 2023 Cavalcade Gala on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023. The event took place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, and what a night it was! 🌟
A Night of Recognition and Celebration
Sharing the stage with outstanding organizations and individuals, The Lemonade Circle stood tall among the recipients. Congratulations to Celebrate Dyslexia Schools, San Antonio African American Community Archive & Museum, Musical Bridges Around the World, Andrea Vocab Sanderson, and Christopher Reese. It was truly an honor to be in the company of such incredible changemakers.

The Carver IMPACT Award was given to The Lemonade Circle in recognition of our unwavering dedication, passion, and tireless efforts in service to the arts and culture community, with a special focus on our community of young women of color in San Antonio. This recognition is a testament to the commitment we hold to promote and celebrate the healthy development and identity of our young women, both now and for generations to come.

In the words of Angela Davis, "I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I can no longer accept." These words resonate not only as our Lemonade Circle motto but as a guiding principle for our Founder, Brandi Coleman. As a Black woman leading a Black-serving nonprofit, Brandi acknowledges the challenges but remains resolute in her dedication to making a difference.
This award is not just a recognition of past achievements but a call to continue the empowering work that lies ahead, irrespective of the lemons life may throw our way.
